چکیده

An artin algebra A is said to be CM-finite if there are only finitely many, up to isomorphisms, indecomposable finitely generated Gorenstein-projective A-modules. We prove that for a Gorenstein artin algebra, it is CM-finite if and only if every its Gorenstein-projective module is a direct sum of finitely generated Gorenstein-projective modules. This is an analogue of Auslander’s theorem on algebras of finite representation type [M. Auslander, A functorial approach to representation theory, in: Representations of Algebras, Workshop Notes of the Third Internat. Conference, in: Lecture Notes in Math., vol. 944, Springer-Verlag, Berlin, 1982, pp. 105–179; M. Auslander, Representation theory of artin algebras II, Comm. Algebra (1974) 269–310]. © 2008 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

Symmetric Auslander and Bass Categories

We define the symmetric Auslander category A(R) to consist of complexes of projective modules whose leftand righttails are equal to the leftand right-tails of totally acyclic complexes of projective modules. The symmetric Auslander category contains A(R), the ordinary Auslander category. It is well known that A(R) is intimately related to Gorenstein projective modules, and our main result is th...

A noncommutative generalization of Auslander's last theorem

In 1966 [1], Auslander introduced a class of finitely generated modules having a certain complete resolution by projective modules. Then using these modules, he defined the G-dimension (G ostensibly for Gorenstein) of finitely generated modules. It seems appropriate then to call the modules of G-dimension 0 the Gorenstein projective modules. In [4], Gorenstein projective modules (whether finite...

Foxby Duality and Gorenstein Injective and Projective Modules

In 1966, Auslander introduced the notion of the G-dimension of a finitely generated module over a Cohen-Macaulay noetherian ring and found the basic properties of these dimensions. His results were valid over a local Cohen-Macaulay ring admitting a dualizing module (also see Auslander and Bridger (Mem. Amer. Math. Soc., vol. 94, 1969)). Enochs and Jenda attempted to dualize the notion of G-dime...

Gorenstein Projective Dimension with Respect to a Semidualizing Module

We introduce and investigate the notion of GC -projective modules over (possibly non-noetherian) commutative rings, where C is a semidualizing module. This extends Holm and Jørgensen’s notion of C-Gorenstein projective modules to the non-noetherian setting and generalizes projective and Gorenstein projective modules within this setting. We then study the resulting modules of finite GC-projectiv...

Mini-Workshop on Gorenstein Homological Algebra

We will introduce the notion of Gorenstein category as the convenient setup for doing Gorenstein Homological Algebra in categories of sheaves, or in general in categories without enough projective objects. We will illustrate this notion by showing that the category of Qcoh(X) of quasi-coherent sheaves on a locally Gorenstein projective scheme fits into this setup. Then we will focus on the cate...
